Our classroom homework policy is explained here. Remember students, you need to get your assignment tracking card signed each night!
Homework assignments are not the traditional worksheet assignments you may be thinking of. Research indicates that the traditional way homework has been doled out in elementary school is not very helpful in the advancement of student learning.
This school year our fourth and fifth grade team has decided to only request 30 minutes of reading be done for homework each night. Students should be reading books of their choosing at their readability and interest level. We encourage parents to read with students whenever possible. Reading out loud with voice, fluency, and prosody is a great example for students.
